Purpose

1.1 To establish a standard procedure for measuring octave sound pressure levels in indoor environments.

2 Scope

2.1 This procedure applies to all indoor environments for a large range of working and living conditions.

5 Responsibility

5.1 TAB Manager is responsible for the final certified TAB reports.

5.2 Therma General Foreman (GF) and TAB Service Coordinator (SC) shall review and edit Sound Test Form for completeness.

TAB technicians shall record all test data on Sound Test Form. (FN 8.021.1)

1.1 All test equipment utilized shall be in calibration in accordance with NEBB Standards and traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

3.1 Sound Level Meter

4 General Procedures

4.1 Choose different locations in the room/area.

4.2 Measure octave band sound pressure levels according to different frequencies. (FN 8.021.1)

4.3 Record the levels on Sound Test Form. (FN 8.021.1)

5 Review and Approval

5.1 TAB Service Coordinator shall review the Sound Test Form for approval.
